Please refer to Apple's Privacy Policy, Google's Privacy Policy, and RevenueCat's Privacy Policy for details on how they handle payment data.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Generate and deliver Weather Evidence Reports
  • Authenticate your account and enable access to purchased reports
  • Retrieve historical weather data from authoritative sources (NOAA, NWS, NCEI Storm Events Database) for the address and date you specify
  • Store purchased report metadata so you can regenerate reports on demand
  • Communicate with you about your account or purchases (e.g., receipts, service updates)
  • Improve and maintain the Service
  • Comply with legal obligations

We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or behavioral targeting. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use user data to train machine learning or artificial intelligence models.

3. How We Store Your Information

Your data is stored using the following services:

  • Firebase Authentication — manages your account credentials securely
  • Cloud Firestore — stores cached weather data used to generate reports
  • On-Device Storage (AsyncStorage) — stores purchased report metadata locally on your device for offline access

All Firebase services are hosted on Google Cloud infrastructure with encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. We implement Firebase Security Rules to ensure users can only access their own data.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.

We may share limited information with the following categories of service providers, solely to operate the Service:

Provider Data Shared Purpose
Google / Firebase Account data and weather cache Authentication, database
Visual Crossing Coordinates and date (no personal info) Retrieving historical weather data
Google Places Address search text Address autocomplete

We may also disclose information if required by law, court order, or governmental regulation, or if necessary to protect our rights, property, or safety.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. Cached weather data used for report generation is retained to enable report regeneration without additional API costs. Cached weather data is retained solely to support report regeneration and system integrity and is not used for profiling or analytics beyond aggregate service improvement. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

Purchased report metadata stored on your device (via AsyncStorage) is controlled by you and can be cleared by uninstalling the App.

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate personal information
  • Delete your account and associated personal data

7. Account Deletion

You may request deletion of your account at any time through the Account Settings screen in the App or by contacting us directly. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

9. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted data transmission (TLS), Firebase Security Rules restricting data access, and secure authentication via Firebase Auth. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Third-Party Links

The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services (such as NOAA or NWS). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.
